MoSCoW: Prioritization Method

MoSCoW is a prioritization technique that has been created at Oracle, and which is quite common in product management.

MoSCoW is a mnemonic that stands for:

  • M: Must have
  • S: Should have
  • C: Could have
  • W: Will not have (this time)

This method especially helps to have interesting cross-functional discussions about why we should address (or not) a specific problem.

It has nothing to do with the city of Moscow or with this Genghis Khan's song. 😅

note

The garden 🌱 is an experimental space that gathers thoughts, ideas, and drafts. Those seeds could be grown into full-fledged blog posts or small guides.
